This section highlights some of the best places to visit in Barcelona. Each article, keeping faith with the GoCar philosophy, is an informative yet light-hearted look at what you can see in the Catalan Capital. Some you will recognise of course, but hopefully we will manage to enlighten you about a few of the less well-known gems hidden bewtween Tibidabo, Montjuic and the Med.
As well as some useful background information about each site, there are opening times, entrance prices (where applicable) and tips about the best time to visit. We have also included links to any official webpages and online ticket sales. At the bottom of each article you will also find a handy Google Map, so you know where it is!
Getting around Barcelona
Obviously the coolest and most fun way to tour the city is in one of our GoCar’s! But we do appreciate that they aren’t for everyone.
The public transport in Barcelona is pretty fabulous and really easy to use. Grab yourself a T-10 ticket (just under 10 euros at time of writing) and you can hop between the buses, metro and fenicular like a young rabbit in the springtime!
The more energetic amongst you could hire a bicycle and to that end we are happy to recommend Budget Bikes, but not lycra shorts.
Barcelona’s taxis zip about all day and night. They are generally pretty honest, but usual rules apply, make sure the meter is on and that it is an official cab.
Apart from that, you can always walk. Barcelona is a pedestrian friendly town and certainly for exploring the Barrio Gotico and El Born, there is no better way to travel!
